Over the last few weeks, we have introduced the Book of Romans. We spent 3 Sundays looking at the first 7 verses of this incredible epistle.

Paul would go on to develop the doctrine found in the first 7 verses in the remaining 16 chapters of the Book.

Simply amazing.

If you missed any of these 3 weeks, remember that you can listen to or download those messages from here.

The title of this post asks a simple question: What sounds like good news to you?

From Romans 1:1-7, we saw that there is a plethora of Good News to share. Specifically:

We can have peace and joy as we choose to be bondservants (v. 1)

We are called to serve in a specific way (v. 1)

We have been separated from the world (v. 1)

The Good News of Jesus Christ has been prophesied for hundreds years (v. 2)

Jesus is the Son of Man (v. 3)

Jesus is the Son of God (v. 4)

God is gracious (v. 5)

There is a purpose in life (v. 5)

God has called each of us individually (v. 6)

God loves us (v. 7)

We are Saints (v. 7)

Now that’s a lot of Good News, wouldn’t you say?

Leave a comment or question below and let’s get the question on the table.

Of ALL the Good News mentioned in Romans 1:1-7, which do you enjoy? Find hard to accept? Question? Trust? Or ….?

You get the idea =)

Keep your eyes on Jesus!

Yesterday, we began our study through the Book of Romans. If you missed that message, you can download or listen to it here.

One of things that we looked at was the calling of Paul the Apostle. The natural extension of that portion of the study, was to ask ourselves what are we called to do in life? About half of you in attendance raised your hand when I asked if you thought you knew what you are called to do in this life.

I think that’s awesome! To know what God has called us to to in this life, is to have a purpose and a part of God’s great BIG plan for our lives. That’s very exciting.

From my experiences and what the Bible teaches, the call placed upon a person’s life comes in 3 steps. It begins with a passion, continues with a burden and is fulfilled as we see and participate in an opportunity.

Where are you at?

Please comment below about your call, passions, burdens or opportunities. Remember: there are no right or wrong answers here and all questions/comments are welcome. Let’s hear from YOU…

As we prepare to enter a new year AND a new decade, it was apparent that this blog needed something new as well. So here goes…

The vision for this blog is a little different now, but it will only work with YOUR help.

Here’s the deal.

You need to participate. And by “participate”, I don’t mean just read a post and then click to another page. Oh no, nothing that easy.

Participate means to share your thoughts, your questions, your challenges. It means adding to the community of those who are here.

And that’s how things are going to change here on the CCF blog for 2010.

Are you in?
